Friends &
Supporters:
Welcome and thank
you for visiting our website. This website is an
exciting way to keep friends and supporters in tune with
what the next few months will entail. As many of you
already know, April 9, 2013 is the date for the
Consolidated Election for Oak Lawn, IL.
I am the incumbent
Village Clerk (almost eight years) now, and I am running
as an Independent candidate this next election. I chose
to run as an Independent because I believe it is in the
best interest of the Village of Oak Lawn. This decision
might bring a positive spin to Oak Lawn politics.
The Village Clerk is
not a voting member of the Board of Trustees, but I do
work diligently with the full Board. My official job
description is “Keeper of the Records”. There are many
legal duties to be done with specific deadlines to
meet. I’m very particular with documents and I follow
the law, as many of you have read about over the past
few years. Bottom line – the job description should be
“jack of all trades”. No two days are alike and you
have to expect just about anything you can imagine in a
given day.
As far as enhancing
the Village Clerk’s position, I am the first Registered
and Certified Clerk in Oak Lawn history. I am two
thirds of the way through to becoming a Master Municipal
Clerk. I belong to and support many organizations
throughout the community, and I have a lot of fun doing
it. This year I was humbled to be elected Vice
President of the South & West Municipal Clerk’s
Association, which consists of 75 municipalities.
I look forward to
you getting involved in my re-election regarding
volunteering, wanting a lawn sign, having a gathering of
friends or offering your
financial support. If you
would like to participate in one of the above mentioned
categories or in another way, please click on the tab
that you are interested in.
Thank you to so many
supporters who have already reached out to help in my
re-election for Oak Lawn Village Clerk.
